Guten Tag Sweet Friends!

Today was another gorgeous day in Koln! And as I type this, it’s 9:30 PM and just starting to get dark outside. Love it!

Today I continued my in depth research for our Paris trip. Jeez, it’s going to be a fast track trip in order to see everything we want to see, and unfortunately that doesn’t include Versailles. That’s another trip I guess. Plus, I have to research vegan restaurants as well so I am assured of not going hungry! To my great delight, there are MANY vegan, organic and even raw restaurants in Paris. Those French are so 2014! Lots of wonderful looking places to choose from! My Happy Cow app on my phone can pull up any vegan or vegan friendly restaurant within 5 miles of where I’m standing and will lead the way. It’s a great app for finding vegan, vegetarian and other friendly restaurants in any city you happen to be visiting. Pretty cool and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for healthy food.

The DomI also took a long walk – about 6 miles – and revisited The Dom. I just can’t express how impressive this The Domcathedral is. Yes, I know there are probably larger ones somewhere, but I have to say, this one is massive and so impressive. The inside is equally impressive and beautiful and even though I’m not catholic, I could not help but be moved at its beauty. I’ve yet to do a full tour with a guide, but I keep returning just to walk through it; and every time I do, I see something new. The stained glass windows are so lovely, and today they were especially gorgeous with the sun shining through them. I continue to be amazed by the cathedral.

iphone 001I also walked across the “locks of love” bridge where millions of people hang a lock on the bridge with their names written or engraved on the lock. Once their lock is secure, couples throw the key into the Rhine river signifying that their love is locked forevermore. Now, I’m not a gambler nor a statistician, but I’m willing to bet that 50% of those couples wish they could retrieve that key from the bottom of the river and remove that lock as their vows of love did not survive the forevermore. Oh well, that means that 50% did survive and are still together, so that’s not too bad I guess. I know of two couples who have locks on that bridge and I’m willing to bet that their love does survive the forevermore!! 🙂

I enjoyed a lovely dinner with Sue and Brent at the Greek restaurant that adjoins our building. They just got back from Berlin and had tons to tell me about their trip. Can’t wait to go there; so much history, so many museums! Will be a very special trip!

I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to explore so many places, see historical sites and meet new people. I have much to be thankful for today and every day!!!

With love and light and good karma!!
