Face in the Fountain

Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Chicago!! A cloudless blue sky, warm sprint temps, daffodils and other spring flowers were blooming all over and everyone was out walking! It was stunning. We walked along the lake to Millennium Park and Navy Pier and through the streets of downtown Chicago. I’m told by my friends who live here that this winter was one of the harshest on record so this beautiful day was manna from heaven for the good people of Chi-town.

I also enjoyed the company of many friends last night that have either relocated to Chicago from Memphis or, like me, are visiting from Memphis and other parts. One of our friends is a playwright and a group of former and current Memphians are here to see his play Cicada being performed at one of the theatres here in Chicago. Another of our Memphis friends is performing in the show. We have friends who flew in from Arizona, Hawaii and Memphis to witness this amazing show and share in our friends’ success. They too are blooming here and like the daffodils they are dazzling everyone with their beauty. I have such talented friends and it is a true joy to watch them shine.

Today promises to be another beautiful day. Tonight we attend the show and will enjoy one more evening together before going our separate ways. I may not see these good people for two years so leaving is hard, but I know I will see them again and they will have experienced new growth. Hopefully, I will too.

  1. I finally found the e-mail with your website link. Chicago, my third favorite city (Honolulu and Las Vegas). I’ll be there this Sunday but you are long gone by now.
