Yassoo Sweet Friends!

IMG_6368Today is my last day at Delenia. Nat and Jodie are driving me to the ferry in Nea Styra that will take me to Agia Marina where I will be met by Cristos the taxi driver. Cristos will take me to the Athens airport. Delenia is most definitely isolated and not an easy place to reach, and while it’s very remote I never once felt scared in anyway. The doors are never locked in any of the apartments on the property, but I slept quite peacefully knowing I was safe. It’s been a great experience, but I’m ready to move on the big city of Tel Aviv!

IMG_6370I am attending a very dear friend’s daughter’s wedding on Thursday, Dec 4th in Tel Aviv. He and his wife are flying to Israel from Memphis today and we are meeting either later tonight or tomorrow. He and his entire family came to Hawaii last year and I was able to have dinner with them before they left on their Hawaiian Island cruise. It was then they invited me to the wedding and I happily accepted their kind invitation. The wedding promises to be loads of fun with great food, music and dancing until the wee hours of the morning!!

I arrive in Tel Aviv tonight around 6 PM and will likely hit the city just in time for dinner. I’m staying in an Airbnb property across from the beach and very near Old Jaffa Town. Really looking forward to exploring the city tomorrow on my free walking tour of the city. It will be an awesome way to start my trip and get my bearings. I’ve found that most major cities offer the free walking tours and you can easily find one by typing ‘free walking tour Tel Aviv’ or whatever city. The guides are usually students who work for tips and I’ve found all of the tours to be exceptional. On Tuesday, I’m going to Caesarea, Acre and Rosh Hanikra. After that, I’m just relaxing and hanging out with my friends before the wedding.

I’ll be in Tel Aviv until Friday morning, and then I am taking the train to Jerusalem where I will stay for six days. I have a free walking tour of Jerusalem scheduled, a trip to the Mt. of Olives, Bethlehem, an sunrise tour of Masada and the Dead Sea AND an overnight to Petra, Jordan!!! I’m actually staying in a Bedouin tent camp in the desert! I’m so pumped about it too! Now you know why I’m ready to leave Greece and head to Israel. I have so much planned and so many fab things to see!! It’s a bucket list trip for me and I plan to enjoy every drop in the bucket!

I hope you can check something off your bucket list today, whether it’s a trip or jumping from an airplane or simply letting go of resentments and anger that you’ve been holding on to. The latter might be the most difficult of all!

Enjoy your day sweet friends and stay tuned for my Israeli adventures…
