Guten Tag Sweet Friends!

Today was a new day with no tears. I had several texts and phone calls in response to my post yesterday from friends who were concerned about me. I’m so very grateful to have people in my life who care so much about my welfare. It is a great comfort to me even this far away. My friend Tam Tam made me laugh when she said my meltdown yesterday was my “holy moly” moment. It’s an inside joke between us, but the “holy moly” was her last straw one day and we dubbed it the holy moly moment. So when she text me to check on how I was doing, she commented that is was my holy moly moment, and indeed it was. Anyway, all is well; and today all is well.

IMG_5504Last night, I was invited to a girls night out with my two German friends Beatrice and Maggie. Several of Bea’s friends met us at Casa di Biase for Italian food and music with Marvelous Mario. It was a very fun evening and much needed after my holy moly moment yesterday. But we stayed out very late and this morning came way too early. I had little time to complete my homework, make lunch, eat breakfast and run out the door in time to make my class. Plus I had to stop by the ATM for funds before class, but I made it on time and class was good. Everyone was ready for the weekend and in a good mood. We even got out a little early. Woohoo!

SulamithToday was my friend Sulamith’s birthday, so I met her this afternoon to celebrate her special day. As I mentioned in a previous post, she is an artist and so we went to her brother’s office to see one of her pieces exhibited at his office. It was most impressive, and I very much liked the vibrant colors, the textures, the shadows cast by the well placed lighting and of course her explanation of what it meant to her. We discussed the IMG_5510piece at length and I was very happy that she shared her work with me. As with every artist, their work is very personal and it’s an extension of their heart and soul, so her sharing it with me was a gift, and I am grateful. Afterwards, we went for coffee and to talk. I am grateful that she shared her special day with me!

Tonight, Brent and Sue stopped by to help us hang the painting that we bought a few weeks ago. It has been sitting unhung for weeks, so Brent came over to help Doc hang it while Sue and I supervised. 🙂

After a simple dinner, I began packing for my trip to Italy tomorrow. I’m meeting my friend Margaret in Milan for the weekend and then I’m going to Pistoia for the Blues Festival to see Jack Johnson, Johnny Lang and the Lumineers!!!! Hopefully, the rain will hold off and we won’t get drenched. It’s all outside in front of the Duomo in the Piazza, so keep your fingers crossed!!!

So, all is well my friends. Yesterday was my holy moly moment and now life is in balance once again. I have everything I need to be happy so no more tears!

I hope you have a great day today with no tears, no rain and no holy moly moments! Ciao!

  1. Hi Weez! You’ll be happy to hear that I now offer my dad the holy moly cookie very time. He gets happy and I love it when he he takes it. Holy moly moments are quite enlightening and can make us stronger, better people! Have a great time in Italy. Ciao for now! I love you, TamTam
