Guten Tag Sweet Friends!

Where is Weezie indeed! I’m beginning to wonder myself. I have so many upcoming trips that I’m having to create a calendar for myself; but I’m NOT complaining!! I’m very much looking forward to my trips over the winter holiday.

This weekend I return to Milano. Yes, this will be my third visit to this beautiful city, and I plan to relax and stroll the streets at leisure. I am meeting a friend there, so I’m sure I will get to see new parts of the city since he is from Milan and knows it very well. On Sunday, I am taking the train to Venice! I’ve yet to go to Venice, and it’s been on my list for a while, right after Barcelona – big check mark! So, I’m going to spend four days in Venice exploring the city streets, canals, cathedrals and restaurants.

After Venice, I return to Cologne for a few days, repack and head to Evia Greece. Evia is a large island just off the mainland; in fact, it looks like part of the mainland at first glance, but it’s connected by a bridge in the north. This trip is actually a house/property sit with a few other people. It’s a large rental property called Delenia, and me along with a group of house sitters are working and staying on the property for the next several months. Well, I’m staying only two weeks, but some of them are staying 2 months! It’s a great way to see part of the country and add a great reference to your house sitting profile. The place is somewhat remote as I have to take a bus, then a taxi to the ferry; take the ferry to the island where I meet one of the couples who will drive me to the property. There is one car, so hopefully, we’ll get to take a few side trips, if nothing else to the market forĀ  supplies. I was told to bring my own towel, hairdryer, toiletries, etc and a sleeping bag if I have one since it gets cold at night. Hmmmmm, no heat??? This will definitely be an adventure. There are few animals to be looked after and we are doing some gardening, painting and repairs while we are there. Like I said, it’s an adventure!

After Greece, I head to Israel to see the daughter of a dear and long time friend of mine get married. My long time friend, Charlie, is someone I worked with at Fedex for 21 years, and we have kept in touch over the years. I’ve known his daughter since birth and being relatively close geographically, I was invited to come to the wedding in Tel Aviv. I’m thrilled to be a part of her special day and to participate in my first ever Jewish wedding! I’ll be in Tel Aviv for 5 days and then head to Jerusalem for 7 days. I have several tours lined up including an overnight to Petra, Jordan! I’ll actually stay in a Bedouin tent in the desert outside of Petra. Can’t wait!!

I return to Cologne on Dec 12, repack, again, and head to London on Dec 17 for a house sit over the holidays! I’ll spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve in London and will be taking care of two sweet cats, Simon and Bingley the entire time. Or maybe they will be taking care of me! I’m really looking forward to meeting them and enjoying a Dickens Christmas in London!! My long time friend Julia is there, and I hope to be able to spend some more time with her as well!!

And that leads me to 2015!! WOW! I’ve done a lot since coming here in May 2014, and my journey continues. Not sure what I’m doing in January, but in February, my dear friend Tam Tam is coming to Germany, and we are heading north, way north to see the Northern Lights!!! We have not made our final plans yet, but we are thinking a Northern Lights cruise from Bergen to Tromso Norway, then a night in Tromso, and then we’re off to a lodge a couple of hours further north in search of the elusive lights! Between the cruise, Tromso and dog sledding up north, we will hopefully be successful! I’ve no doubt we will see the lights several times! But even if we don’t, it will be the experience of a lifetime, especially for two island girls!!!

I hope you will continue to follow my adventures. I also hope that you will reach out to me if you are heading this way or just need advice on what to do where. I’m happy to help, so drop me a line anytime! You can also email me. Just click on Contact above and email me at the address listed.

Happy trails sweet friends!
